PUBLIC NOTICE
SERVICE DISRUPTIONS – APOLOGY
Air Botswana wishes to unreservedly apologise to its valued customers, for the inconveniences they have experienced over the past weeks. This is highly regretted. The airline has had to put one of its aircraft on unplanned maintenance, resulting in unacceptable delays, flight combinations and/or cancellations. The airline has made an effort to source additional leased aircraft to fill the gap, but this plan was unsuccessful as it led to erratic scheduling and last-minute flight cancellations.
Air Botswana, subsequently, had to condense its schedule to a two aircraft operation, which has led to reduced operations and/or flight combinations in some instances. Furthermore, more recently, adverse weather conditions and high temperatures have contributed to delays and baggage delivery complications which are highly regrettable.
The airline is working tirelessly to restore services and stabilise the operation and would like to assure its customers that it remains fully committed to addressing these challenges and enhancing customer experience when flying Air Botswana. As part of the corrective actions,
the airline has begun putting a comprehensive plan in place to overcome identified issues without compromising the safety of its operations and these include: -
- Timely communication on schedule changes and any other information that may affect customers;
- Dissemination of travel tips, relevant to the current challenges, at first point of contact to enhance customers experience during their travel, for instance; baggage management tips and precautionary measures;
- Implementation of a new customer feedback procedure to ensure structured and timely response to complaints and feedback (this will be publicised in due cause);
- Ensuring that passengers arrive at their destinations with their baggage. In this regard, Air Botswana wishes to request its esteemed customers, to always carry essentials such as medication, in their hand luggage in case adverse weather conditions or higher temperatures affect aircraft carrying capacity.
Air Botswana wishes to thank its esteemed customers for the patience and patronage demonstrated and would like to assure the travelling public that it is doing everything in its ability to regain their confidence and trust. We are at the final stages of resolving these challenges and we are committed to avoiding disruptions to your holiday plans, especially, during this festive season.
Once again, please accept our sincere apologies.
Thank you
