The Fleet
Air Botswana's current fleet comprises of 2 new generation ATR72-600 turbopropeller aircraft and 1 EMBRAER E-170 Jet.
The ATR twin turboprops are from the French-Italian manufacturer Avions de Transport Regional in Toulouse, France. With their reliability, high performance and ability to operate from hot and high airfields, these outstanding short-haul carriers are ideally suited to the Air Botswana routes and operating conditions. ATR aircraft are in service in many parts of the world.
In Good Hands
Air Botswana maintains its fleet to international standards at its engineering hangar at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, Gaborone.
The airline’s technical team have considerable experience with the aircraft types in their care. Maintenance procedures, including meticulous airframe, engine and avionics checks at regular intervals, are carried out in strict adherence to the manufacturers’ exacting specifications, as well as in full compliance with local and international civil aviation regulations.
This engineering excellence is an important element contributing to Air Botswana’s full membership of IATA (International Air Transport Association), the body that represents, leads and serves the world airline industry. IATA membership is accorded only to those airlines that successfully complete the rigorous IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) relating to all areas of their operations.
